NFPA 70 §Article 760
Fire alarm systems
- Publication
- NFPA 70
- Edition
- 2023
- Section
- §Article 760
What it requires
Covers both power-limited (PLFA) and non-power-limited (NPLFA) fire alarm circuits: power sources, separation from other circuits, and installation. Power-limited circuits — the usual SLC and NAC case — run listed FPL / FPLR (riser) / FPLP (plenum) cable and non-power-limited circuits run NPLFA-type cable, but as of the 2023 edition those cable listing and marking rules live in Article 722. Circuit-integrity (CI) or otherwise protected cable is required where NFPA 72 calls for survivability.
